兴趣是最好的教师。不少教师用一些中外名作家推词敲句的经典故事感染学生，确实鼓舞了学生修改习作的信心。学生渴望成功，希望得到别人的肯定，教师要善于调动学生习作修改的积极性。面对学生的自主修改，教师要“大张旗鼓”地表扬，适度地放大“闪光点”，学生有了快乐的成功体验，就会“渐入佳境”，养成自觉修改的习惯。
二、教给习作修改的方法
修改习作需要引导，教师要清晰《标准》关于习作教学的年段目标，不空洞讲解作文的修改技巧，不急于求成。在一次次修改的实践中，渗透修改的方法。首先，仔细研究“修改标准”。每次习作都有具体的要求，学生在写作文的时候，必然在要求的驱动下组织材料，选取习作内容。那么，习作修改也要“有法可依”，那就是习作要求。引导学生审视自己的习作，是否符合要求：哪些地方写得好，哪儿还需要改进。每次修改抓住“一点”，逐步提升学生的修改能力。其次，有效利用“读”。语句是否通顺，标点是否正确，在一字不落的“读”中就会显现出来。针对习作要求，反复阅读，用心揣摩，发现自己习作的“得意之处”，挖掘习作的“不尽人意”之处，进行修改。再则，充分利用“范文”。有的学生面对习作，会感到束手无策，教师要适时地为学生提供一些“范文”，让学生从范文中获取一些表达的智慧和修改的灵感，提高修改的质量。
三、实施多元评改的方式
修改习作，不仅仅是学生的自改，还可以进行多种评改，习作评改主体应多元化。学生互改，学生既是作者也是读者，在相互的学习、欣赏、修改中，可以取长补短；师生共改，在教师的引导下，会更集中快捷地发现习作的优点和问题，这在刚开始指导学生修改习作时是一种有效的方法。我们还可以拓宽习作的修改范围，如家长点评，网络评改等，只要能使学生感受到习作修改的乐趣，达到“文不厌改”“欲罢不能”的境界，能够对学生习作起到促进作用，我们都可以尝试。综上所述，培养学生修改习作，不但让学生处于主动的地位，注重学生的主体作用与能力发展，促进学生作文水平的提高，而且教师也能从繁重的工作中解放出来，用更多的时间去钻研教材，探索教学新方法。
